Meet The Family

To create something, out of nothing. That’s how it started. During her first exhibition in 1987, my mother, Rima Baaklini presented this concept by decorating some used items, and transforming them into centerpieces. Now, it might sound like recycling, but at the time the thought of reusing something for other than its sole purpose was non-existent.

And from there emanated the name ‘Souffle D’art’. A breath, which is simply air, oxygen, becomes art. It is true, that the type of work we do today is actually a bit different, but we evolved.

Behind this store is a family. My father Jacques, a carpenter, and my mother Rima, taught my brother and I how to actually appreciate the aesthetic of every object we come across of.

We were raised on a passion and obsession of design and art. And now we’re expressing that, in this specific and very interesting field, decorating chocolate
